GLUES
A range of products featuring distinct formulations and properties, designed to be selected according to specific production settings and desired outcomes. These are mainly polar-based products, developed to significantly reduce odor and pollutant emissions generated during the firing process, thereby helping to minimize environmental impact.
The main differences among the formulations currently available lie in their composition (such as water content and the presence or absence of fluxing agents), operating temperature, leveling behavior, solid content, and interaction with grits.
Achieving optimal production results always depends on a combination of diverse factors — including line setup, raw materials used, and the type of product being manufactured.
AQUABOND
INKS
Aquacolor water-based inks are nano-scale pigment dispersions carried in water and polar solvents. Their formulation cuts the organic fraction by around 50%, which in turn markedly lowers VOCs, aldehydes and TOC—the main drivers of odor and pollutant emissions.
Aquacolor combines color consistency with high technical and aesthetic performance: crisp print definition, smooth process continuity and dependable in-line operation. And because the system is water-based, it eliminates repellency issues that typically arise from the polarity mismatch between non-polar solvent inks and the polar aqueous solutions used along glazing lines.
AQUACOLOR
EFFECTS
A class of products used in ceramic manufacturing to create precisely controlled three-dimensional decorative effects. When applied to the unfired tile body—typically before the engobe or glaze—they form areas that resist the even deposition of subsequent layers.
The medium repels or isolates the overlying material, preventing it from adhering to the treated zones. This selective behavior produces grooves or depressions where the product has been applied.
The mechanism relies on differences in surface energy: the treated areas exhibit lower surface energy and, as a result, reduced wettability compared to the surrounding surface.
Unlike sink agents, which act during firing by promoting localized melting of the glaze, resist agents deliver their effect earlier—already during the application of the following layers.
AQUASINK
CLEANERS
Water-based technical fluids designed for the thorough cleaning of digital printer circuits.
They are used whenever an ink change is required, during major maintenance operations, or when preparing the equipment for an extended shutdown. In particular, using cleaning fluids is essential when switching from solvent-based to water-based inks—or the other way around. Direct contact between the two systems would otherwise cause serious compatibility and process issues due to their different chemical nature.
These cleaners are typically formulated from solvent blends, which may be single-component but are more often multi-component systems optimized for complete and safe ink removal.
