Filtration test of digital products (Sartorius)

Actions:

#01. Sample collection (60 ml syringe)
#02. Inserting the syringe into the measuring device
#03. Assembling the 5 micron filter
#04. Positioning the plunger on the syringe
#05. Starting the timer and operating the plunger
#06. Filtration process
#07. Recording the filtration time

Sartorius filtration is not a specific type of filtration but refers to the use of Sartorius branded equipment, produced by a leading company in the field of laboratory filtration and technologies.

The filtration test of digital suspensions(such as glues, inks, or similar) is designed to verify that the product does not contain out-of-spec solid particles (typically smaller than a micron) that could negatively affect the performance of digital printers, due to filter blockages or even nozzle clogging.

The test is carried out by placing the sample inside a 60 ml syringe. Under mechanical pressure, the suspension is forced through a 5 micron mesh filter. The filtration time is a key indicator to evaluate whether corrective actions are needed.
