CHEMISTRY PILLS

Model fluid

Model fluids are technical liquids formulated to simulate the behavior of ceramic inks within the printing system, without containing pigments or functional components used for decoration. They are mainly used during testing, startup, calibration, or validation of operating conditions.

Their purpose is to allow monitoring and adjustment of technical parameters—such as pressure, flow rate, and response time—while avoiding the waste of actual ink and minimizing the risk of damage from instability or system faults.

Chemically and rheologically, model fluids are designed to match the physical properties of real inks (such as viscosity, density, and surface tension) as closely as possible, enabling consistent simulation of fluid behavior inside the printer.

In ceramic production environments, these fluids are also used in technical training, operator instruction, and in verifying the condition of printheads before ink is introduced. Choosing the appropriate model fluid requires attention to system compatibility and material specifications, in order to ensure a safe and efficient transition to full production.
