Plasticizer for the deflocculation of ceramic bodies of various compositions. It allows the preparation of slips with a high solids content and low viscosity.

The deflocculating effect of GIESSFIX PT 88 derives, on the one hand, from the cation exchange between the additive and the ceramic body and the influence on the electric double layer of the clay mineral particles. On the other hand, it has a complexing effect on metal ions and can therefore bind Mg or Ca ions that interfere with deflocculation.
