OPTAPIX C 1000 G

OPTAPIX C 1000 G is a binding agent for glazes and engobes based on purified sodium carboxymethylcellulose (CMC).

The OPTAPIX C product range is distinguished by its degree of polymerization and the viscosity of its aqueous solution. These chemicals, in addition to increasing abrasion resistance, are capable of regulating the viscosity of glazes and engobes and are typically used as non-foaming binding agents.

Highly polymerized products like OPTAPIX C 200 G and OPTAPIX C 1000 G produce a slight thickening effect on the glaze. Generally, a higher degree of polymerization enhances binding properties and the dehydration process, directly influencing extended drying times.

Other benefits of the OPTAPIX C range include increased plasticity of ceramic materials and a subsequent increase in dry breaking strength.

For optimal results, it is recommended to add the product in amounts ranging between 0.05% and 1.0%. The precise quantity depends on specific working conditions. The product can be added during grinding or added along the glazing line.
