Grinding residue

In ceramic production, to measure the grain size of the ceramic mixture during the wet grinding process, it usually checked and used a benchmark the following parameter is measured: the grinding residue in the sieve.

The procedure is usually this as follows:

100 grams of slurry are manually sieved under flowing water until the residual material on the sieve becomes constant.

Such residue is dried to get a sieved residue in g/100ml of slurry.

The sieves which are usually used can range from 45 to 75 micron, as appropriate on a case-by-case basis.
