Frits are produced by merging raw materials in melting furnaces at temperatures of about 1000-1450 \u00b0C. The molten mixture undergoes a sudden cooling with the help of water and special cylinders that produce glass flakes about a millimetre thick. The frit reduced in flakes is then ground in special dry mills to obtain electrostatic powder, or dissolved in a water suspension to get glaze in the liquid state.<\/p>

The formulation of the frit affects and defines the chemical composition and therefore the physical, chemical and mechanical features of the glaze.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
