OPTAPIX C 1000 G
OPTAPIX C is a range of binding agents for glazes and engobes based on purified sodium carboxymethylcellulose (CMC).
The products in the OPTAPIX C series are defined by their degree of polymerization and the viscosity of their aqueous solutions. In addition to improving abrasion resistance, these additives regulate the viscosity of glazes and engobes and are typically used as non-foaming binders.
Products with a high degree of polymerization, such as OPTAPIX C 1000 G, create a slight thickening effect in the glaze layer. In general, higher polymerization levels enhance binding properties and improve the dehydration process—factors that directly lead to longer drying times.
Other benefits of the OPTAPIX C range include increased plasticity of the ceramic body and a corresponding increase in dry breaking strength.
