#04 Process waters & critical issues
Water used throughout the various stages of ceramic production — from grinding raw materials to glaze line applications — plays a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of many critical phases.
On one hand, process water is essential for maintaining high product quality and executing production steps correctly.
On the other hand, it can also be a source of issues that may arise early on the production line and persist even after firing, ultimately compromising the aesthetic finish of the ceramic material.
We’re talking about factors like water conductivity, groundwater quality, clarification, sanitization, pH balance, tank storage, and treated wastewater — just to name a few.
So, how can process water be managed effectively?
And how do we address the challenges it can cause?
